When using Ecostruxure Machine Expert HVAC, if I assign an EEPROM variable to one of the text boxes on the Display / HMI side, would it write to the memory upon a change in value or for every scan?
I assume since we have access to the EEPROM from HMI, there is some internal protection to prevent continuous writes to EEPROM.
On the Programming side, I can control when to trigger the sysWritePar*data _type*(ADR(EE_var), var) function, but for the HMI, is there an internal protection?

The display writes only via change, regarding to this point there will not be a problem. If you use a other HMI this normaly also writes via Modbus only in the case of change. Regarding to this point you did not get problems with the number of writes.
