Hi Jeff,
I am trying to access SmartConnector portal and SmartConnector Endpoint by using my machine IP rather than local host or 127.0.0.1. It doesn’t work. I check the SmartConnector Installation and Configuration guide – In Section 12.2.1 Restricted Access through URL Conventions and Windows Firewall:
“Alternatively, SmartConnector supports the use of the “+ syntax,” e.g., http://+:8082, where the endpoint will accept connections on all interfaces of the host computer. This configuration is more flexible but less secure.”
How can I use the + sign in the address? My machine IP is 192.168.1.152. I tried http:// 192.168.1.152+:8082. It doesn’t work.
If I use http:// 192.168.1.152 that works for ES. Please advise. If it’s a restriction from SmartConnector … What I need to configure/change?
Thanks!
Neeraj Tomar

Hi Neeraj,
Check your windows firewall, and virus scan firewall, and make sure they have been either disabled or configured to accept connections from your local IP/ Hostname.

Hi Neeraj,
If you want to be able to access your Smart Connector's port and a REST endpoint that you stood up within Smart Connector by any means (e.g. localIP, hostname, localhost etc..). Set your addresses to exactly "http://+:8082" for the portal address, and for "http://+:PORTFORENDPOINT" for your REST Endpoint. There is no need to add your PCs address to the plus sign. If you only want to be able to access these by your local IP instead, change the + to your local IP address.
I am not sure I completely understood what you are asking, so let me know if I was off the mark.
Regards,
-Jeff

hmm.... I did use my machine IP instead of '+' like http://192.168.1.152:8082 -- It didn't work. See below. Hopefully it will clarify my question.
Thanks!

2. I can’t open SmartConnector Portal if I use my machine IP (192.168.1.152)
3. When I configure the endpoint to be my machine IP. Swagger didn’t work that mean the endpoint invoke not work either.
