We have a site where we are serving all the log data to a third party using the RESTfull Web Service Endpoint in SmartConnector. Initially we are seeing response times of 100-300ms, but as the client goes through the list of trend samples that it is polling, the time starts to increase. We are seeing it grow to 15 - 20 seconds per poll.
When we restart the SmartConnector service, it is quick again, but over time starts to slow down.
The SmartConnector is installed on the ES Server machine and is only reading extended log data. The client reads 1000 logs every hour. Each request is for three hours worth of data.
The server CPU and RAM remain low at all times, but we cannot establish the reason for the degradation in performance.

Hi Steven,
Thank you for reporting this problem!
I have taken a look at your logs, and it seems that the request to SBO is pretty consistent in terms of speed, and the issue seems to be somewhere in the SmartConnector REST stack. I will dig into this and see what I find.
Regards,
-Jeff
