IE requirement for Smartconnector Portal

I installed Smartconnector on a customer site. They have IE8. Javascript/Active Scripting is enabled.

I am able to browse to the portal http://127.0.0.1:8082/Login but I have errors on the page.

Is there a requirement of later version if IE to use the portal?

SmartConnector uses a somewhat older version of jQuery, it is one that certainly supports IE8.  Can supply the actual call stack of the JavaScript that is causing the error?

That said, IE8 is a pretty dated.  If possible, update to a newer version or say Chrome.
