Any of you Smart Connector Developers developing an OPC Smart Connector Extension?

There has been a lot of interest in using OPC in StruxureWare for Buildings Operations. I was wondering if anyone was in the middle or completed a OPC SmartConnector and if so, what flavor?

I'm checking the community to see if the work is already done or being done befoe we start any project.

Just an FYI, StruxureLab R&D only does Proof of Concept SmartConnectors and supports SmartConnector developers.

We have some solution for OPC - ModbusTCP OPC Client. This software can browse opc servers and tags. Then choosed tags forward values to ModbusTCP servers. Configuration xml filles for importing in SBO with registers names and adressing generates automatically. It was develop especially for SBO. Supported specifications: OPC DA 2.05 3.00

Thanks IIya.  I was specifically asking if anyone had developed a Smart Connector Extension to handle OPC and if so which OPC? It seems what you have is an application that is a gateway from Modbus TCP server to an OPC DA Client. This would be good for someone, but I was looking for a Smart Connector Extension. Mike

We are developing SmartConnector Extension for OPC DA 2.05 3.00 now. We are planning alfa testing in middle of June. I’ll tell you right away when we’re done.

Just saw this topic, months ago, I have developed an smartConnector extention for OPC UA(OPC DA is also supported by installing wrapper), currently, it only support data exchange, the OPC alarm is still under studying and plan to be developed soon.

Sorry for updating you until now, It's been a while that I was busy in a project and not browse this community.

The OPC UA gateway of SmartConnector which I deployed months ago, which you asked for, it is still a POC (proof of concept)and after that I stopped refining that POC since I change my design methodology from a very fundamental base---I splitted the OPC gateway of SmartConnector to two parts: 1. OPC to SQL database and 2. SQL Database to EWS server.

So that, I actually deployed a standard SQL gateway which builds an EWS server based on SQL database and execute data exchanges as well.

The purpose of my this design is to create a template component which will easily help any third-party server to convert to EWS server. For example, your requirement of OPC server, it only requires you locally create an application or extension to create a OPC client to write data into SQL database, and my SQL gateway will handle all left into SBO, in this way you will locally support and maintain your OPC client as well.

Please let me know your idea of it and let's see how should we proceed for your requirement.

I am glad to inform you that a demo of our EBO-OPC server (DA + UA) is available! Let me know if you are interested to watch the demo.

Our EBO-OPC server is connected with the Matrikon OPC client software that displays 20,000 EBO values.
