If we poll the alarms by EWS, then we will get a unique ID for each alarm, such as Id = "/Server 1|/Server 1/Test/COV|6076801d-87e8-4301-ba50-1f893e33d75e".
Instead of it, which attribution of the alarm in SBO will be matched with this ID "6076801d-87e8-4301-ba50-1f893e33d75e"? I ever tried to add the column"EWS ID" in SBO alarm banner but it is always null for all alarms.
Please help clarify it, thanks.
As far as I know, this ID is an internal GUID that is exposed via EWS so that you may acknowledge individual alarm events, I don't think this is exposed in SBO WorkStation itself.
Is this something that you need for your project? If it is, what exactly are you trying to do, because there may be alternative methods that you can use to approach it.
I am exploring an solution to receive alarms of SBO by SNMP trap, and acknowledge alarms from this external application by EWS. If it is possible, which will make alarm management more simple and with best performance without any delay.(polling alarms from SBO by EWS is not my option here)
However, asI receive all the alarms by SNMP, there is no alarms ID as in EWS, there will be no identity key for me to acknowledge alarms.
Since the alarms GUID in EWS will always unique and unchangeable, will it be possible to get from SBO itself directly and sent out as attribution of alarm.
I'm not sure what you're doing is entirely possible. The AlarmEvent's ID is needed to ACK it using EWS.
On thing you could try is to execute an EWS GetAlarmEvents when you do receive the SNMP trap and then try to correlate it to the data you have from the trap. That way you could have the ID to ACK. Not sure how feasible that approach would be though.
Check with Ajay Nagar as they are doing a similar SmartConnector (SNMP Traps -> EWS Alarms) not sure if it involves Acking of alarms. But I would check with Ajay (he maybe on vacation in India) before writing a SmartConnector extension that may be allready in progress or better done. I will get Ajay or a team member to contact you.
Can we consider this closed Austen? I know that you received some code to help solve this problem.
Yes. it is closed, I have find the way to solve this.
