I wish I'd never bought the SE Wiser "smart" radiator valves and boiler hub, but I'm stuck with them for now. I wanted something with Opentherm that integrated with HA, which is why I opted for this system, but the TRVs are useless.
They're constantly going over the target temperature, and seemingly at random. One day the kitchen is red hot because it hasn't closed the radiator valve, the next day it's the bedroom.
I've tried dealing with SE's tech support, but if they do eventually reply their only objective is to get rid of you; not solve the issue.
So I wanted to ask here if anyone has figured out how to make the TRVs more reliable and accurate?
I've reset them a hundred times, the batteries are new, the signal is strong (I had to buy an extender, because even though it's ZigBee, it's incapable of connecting to my existing network).
There is an option for sending logs to SE, but they don't actually let you see your own logs! So if something is happening that's causing the TRVs to behave so erratically, Wiser keeps it hidden. HA is she to extract a little extra info, such as signal strength, but that's all.
Anyone else managed to make this terrible system so what is supposed to?

I have installed this system in two properties quite successfully. Before you give up hope, I might invest in the Wiser smart plug thingy which is also a zigbee extender for the TRV's. Do not be afraid of buying second hand items on Amazon or ebay. Two of these extenders sorted out connectivity drop outs in a largeish and thick walled house and work reliably as well as providing switching for floor standing lights when we are away.
TRV accuracy is covered elsewhere in this rather poorly laid out forum. My observations are that the error tends to be systematic so adding or reducing the value of the required setpoint by trial and error yields acceptable results. Have a shufty at this

Regarding customer support. Agreed but I think all manufacturers are in the same boat here. My advice is to pursue and be systematic.

It is possible that the Wiser zigbees daisy chain if in range with each other. If so the system's reach to far flung corners may be a thing. Ask top solution provider Alfred if he can shed light and bag another solution.
