Option to cancel a automation conditionally
Hi,
I have motion sensor (Wiser CCT595011). I'm trying to use it to control lights in my bathroom. I have set the sensor update interval to 1 second and i've set up two automations to control the lights. One to turn the lights on (Automation1) and the other one to turn them off (Automation2). Turning the lights on works just fine, but turning them off doesn't.
Automation that turns the lights off is as follows (Automation2): 1. Triggers when motion sensors state changes to "no movement" 2. First task is to wait for 10 seconds. 3. Second task is to shut off the lights.
Problem with this is that there can (and will) be several changes in the motion sensor state during that 10 second wait and they all trigger a new Automation1 or Automation2. State of the motion sensor can in fact be different in every update interval (so 10 in my case) which all trigger a new automation resulting a non-wanted lightshow in my bathroom.
I would suggest a software update where there would be a feature added that makes possible to cancel a automation conditionally. One of the cancel conditions could be "automation trigger" which would cancel the started automation (Automation2), if selected other automation (Automation1) gets triggered while Automation2 is still running.
In my case i would select the "turn lights on" automation to be the cancellation trigger for my "turn lights off" automation and also the other way around. This would get rid of this unwanted behavior. This way i would have the fast reaction to sensors state change and the lights would stay lit untill the wait time really runs out without cancellation.
This cancellation functionality would be really handy in many other applications as well. Please consider.
I don't think there is a way in the current software version to gain the desired functionality. I'm i right?
