Drayton Wiser Hub Commissioning issues

I'm having some issues setting up my drayton wiser hub.

1. When I press the set up button there is no LED flashing. There is no LED in that position at any stage. When i power up intially the other two LED's flash but none here.

2. The connection is quite tempermental to my WiFI. It takes a lot of trial and patience to get it connected. I have it connected now, however I cannot get it to connect to the cloud. I log out and log in again to try another time and I spend ages trying to get it to connect to wifi again, as when I log in it can't find the hub and i have to pretend I've changed my router and set up wifi again.

3. For some reason I cannot change my address in the app I don't get any weather info currently so wanted to change it but I can't. Are there any issues online relating to my account which  may be causing all these issues? "Save failed. We're unable to save your changes right now. Please try again later".

Currently I can only control locally with my wifi. 

I have a 4g router but it's not huawei it's TP link, however its' connected to a TP link Mesh system providing the network. IT broadcasts on 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz. A Deco S4 system.

It seems a lot of people can't get their hub to connect to the cloud. I regret not doing enough research on the known issues. Hoping there are some solutions here!

My home network is Unifi, you could say its what business's would use, Unifi cloud key, 24 port poe switch, x3 Uap ac access points running at 5ghz and 2.4ghz.

The only stable-ish way i found to overcome any issues was to create a complete new wifi group thats only broadcasting at 2.4ghz and then i had to lock the hub to the closest access point.

In other words making the hub think it was operating on a 1990's IT equipment and network. LoL

Even then looking at my readings on home assistant it shows multiple disconnections throughout the day. 

Minimum 4 times on average. 

Not really what you'd expect in 2022... 🤦‍♂️

I don't know why I.O.T. devices restrict themselves to 2.4GHz, but it seems pretty common.

One thing to watch out for, is interference between the Wiser Zigbee network and your 2.4GHz WiFi (see here  ). Unfortunately, you can't configure the Zigbee setting - or even see it, without resorting to use of the API ☹️

I have four Access Points, so even with 20MHz bandwidth selected, the Wiser is going to overlap one of them. (It's just as well I don't use Bluetooth in the house, because that's also 2.4GHz)

My experience setting up the hub was a struggle also.

The setup I have at home is VM Broadband in modem mode and ASUS router managing the connection to the outside world, VPN and DHCP. The WiFi is then distributed through a mesh of BT whole home discs which broadcast the primary SSID and a guest one.

I have several smart devices which sit on the guest network which all work fine do my natural instinct was to place the Wiser hub on the guest network.

For some reason this would not work for me. With 5ghz disabled along with the usual settings to add it to the network. Tried different channels and frequencies which didn't make any difference either. Got in touch with tech support who were helpful in suggesting some of the above points.

By chance, I took the Wiser hub with me on a flying lead and mains plug just to see if this would connect on another premises which a much simpler set up then my network at home.

I couldn't believe my luck when it connected to the Wiser server instantly. I then returned home and tried it on the main SSID and... we have lift off!!!

Solved the problem for me but can't understand why it wouldn't work on the guest network.
