This feature allows you to add the email address of your reseller during device registration to ensure that they also receive notifications about important lifecycle events affecting your Smart-UPS.
Once you specify an email address, your reseller will receive an email asking them to accept your invitation. Only your company name is shared initially unless they choose to accept your invitation. If they accept, they will receive your contact details including your name, email address, phone number, and job role if provided in the Profile page.
Additionally, they will receive the following important information about your Smart-UPS:
UPS Extended Warranty
Advanced or Standard plan expiration
UPS Replacement Battery
UPS end-of-life
Information about sales opportunities
Additionally, when your Smart-UPS requires maintenance, your reseller will be emailed 3 months in advance to notify them. Your reseller can then contact you and provide maintenance support for your Smart-UPS
You can view the status of your reseller connection at any time via the Reseller page in the Web Portal:
The different statuses displayed are:
Invite Pending: Your reseller has been emailed using the email address provided to accept your invitation to connect. This status will display until your reseller accepts your invitation, or until the invite expires if it is not accepted within 7 days.
Confirmed: Your reseller has accepted your invitation and will receive lifecycle events about your Smart-UPS when maintenance is required.
Invite Timeout: Your reseller has not accepted your invitation within 7 days.
Canceled: Your reseller has opted-out from receiving lifecycle notifications about your Smart-UPS. To add a new reseller, you must reset your settings.
If you no longer want to share your UPS information with your reseller, you can disconnect at any time. If you want to re-connect with your reseller, you can add their email and they must accept your invitation again.
NOTE: If you use the Reseller feature, you are still responsible for your UPS lifecycle events and the maintenance of your Smart-UPS.
