Zone Selective Interlocking & T300

Hello Community!!

Yesterday, a client contacted us with a question regarding the T300 included in the MV solution with RM AirSet panels, used for control and protection.

Their inquiry concerns Zone Selective Interlocking, since our supply will be part of an electrical system for a Data Center, where our contract covers the interconnection between the Utility and the RMUs feeding the Data Center, which include the 20/0.4 kV transformers and MV generators. They were also concerned about how to implement this solution for the protection devices that are in the 400 V Low Voltage panels.

Our scope includes the T300 (HU250 + SC160 [x2 units]), supplying the RMUs (which, according to the information given to us, also includes SE equipment) and, for 400 V, ABB equipment.

I have attached the shared document. If you need any additional information, please let me know.

Thank you.
@Paco,

Hola Julio

Could you please precise what is the exact concern of Quark there:

1/ confirm the selectivity study?
Then you may connect to our global network studies experts (Julien Mécréant/Eric Balmat's  team)

2/ Check feasibility with SC160 of the interlocking with the LV ACB in Low Voltage distribution boards?

3/ Is there also a question on the selectivity between breakers in main substation controlling the feeders?
I imagine no SC160 there, using more advanced relays?

Concerning point2 if I understand well, need is to you need to interlock SC160 in RMU on MV feeder to main ACB in LVDB on same feeder, so that if one of the two is tripping, the other one opens.
This by exchanging a "LOCK" signal through hardwired digital I/Os
=> Is there any time constraint then?

In this case:
- Use a DO on HU250 to send signal to ACB. Activate HU250 DO on SC160 trip
- Use a DI on SC160 or HU250 to receive Lock signal from ACB, then add a formula in HU250 to request SC160 to open the breaker
Reset conditions of locking signals to be precised

Hope this helps
