Using the ATS01N112FT as a soft start/ramp for a PSC motor ?
Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could let me know if the ATS01N112FT could be used to ramp up a PSC motor (fan) inside an air handling unit, just as if if was like the ECM model of the same air handler?
At the time of purchase we were going thru the whole 'chip shortage' and whatnot, so I was advised to purchase the PSC motor version in case anything were to happen and warranty claims wouldn't take an absurd amount of time for parts to arrive, etc.
I'd enjoy the fan motor inside the air handler to delay coming on while the outdoor unit is also starting up, drawing a massive amount of amperage, if all totaled together.
The air handler is a Rheem RH1PZ4821STANNA, 115v, 1ph, 11.0A, with wiring diagram attached:
I understand the high voltage wiring intercepting the fan motor, but I'm unsure of the signal terminals on the ATS01. Could those be attached from the 24v thermostat signal, or elsewhere on the control board ? Would anyone be able to draw the ATS01 in the diagram for me ?
