Hi community,
Is it possible to use VPIS_VO (VPI6261x) as a voltage sensor with Saitel DR AB_AC/LPVT as Fault passage indication module for fault indication/direction and measurement?
VPIS_VO is by default used with T300 SC150/160-LPVT using wire adapter EMS59577.
Is there any wire adapter for AB_AC/LPVT coax voltage terminals?
Thanks!
@Iván_González

Hello Neracali.
There is no wire adapter to interconnect VPIS_VO (VPI6261x) with Saitel DR.
Saitel DR like any other member of Saitel´s family has not been designed for protective functions nor for FPI although we participated in an european I+D project with DR working as a FPI (special logical program) and IEC61850-GOOSE as the main driver to interchange information.

Hello Neracali,
Supporting capacitive dividers is quite unique on the RTU market.
Here are some explanations as to why T300 can support capacitive dividers (i.e., VPIS-VO V3, VDS LRM, VDS HR, PPACS and VDIS) and why Saitel DR CT/VT module can't.
As capacitive dividers are cheap and have a limited footprint, MV switchgear are normally fitted with these (1 unit per MV switch: load break switch, isolating switch, or circuit breaker) to provide a local visual indication of the presence of MV voltage on each of the 3 phases.
However, although a capacitive divider can provide a voltage output, it cannot follow any MV measurement standard: due to that, it cannot be considered as a MV voltage sensor, which is the reason for which it cannot be used with Protection Relays.
Saitel DR CT/VT module was designed for traditional MV voltage sensors (i.e., VTs) but not for capacitive dividers.
PowerLogic T300 is an RTU specialized for MV/LV substations (where customers mostly use capacitive dividers). That is why SC150 switch module has been designed to provide FPI & MV AC measurements, and to support both traditional MV voltage sensors (VTs and LPVTs) and capacitive dividers through an external adapter:

Thank you @JuanRayo for your answer.
In document https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_Doc_Ref=SE-M579-USR_EN&p_enDocType=User+guide&p_File... after page 37 Fault Detection Indication function is described. I checked in Easergy Builder that we can add this function and assign database elements.
So my next questions are:
1. what type of LPVT sensors can be used (preferably with Coax connectors)?
2. does some Coax "pigtails" come with ordered AB_AC-LPVT or can be ordered separately?
3. could we use VPI6261x (VPIS_VO) as voltage sensors, connect them somehow to the AB_AC-LPVT module and calibrate (page 66) for Fault Detection Indication function as described in upper document?

Dear @JYPOC ,
I asked about AB_AC-LPVT module, not AB_AC with VT option.
I couldn't find what voltage sensors I can use with it (capacitive or some resistive LP voltage dividers).
Does SE have some in their portfolio and could it be VPIS-VO V3?
This module also supports magnitude and angle calibration (page 66).
So I asked what is adequate voltage sensor to reach described SW function (Fault detection Indication)?
Could you help us @Iván_González , please?

Hello again Neracali.
The AB_AC LPVT comes with coaxial connectors. In principle, any LPVT with a coaxial connector within the specified range could be connected. The AB_AC does not have coaxial cables, only the fixed connectors soldered to the PCB.
Regarding the VPIS-VO, I can't find any documentation for the sensor on the website. According to the information on the specific adapter for the SC150, it appears to generate a voltage of 1 to 30VAC L-L, which is not compatible. The output connector type is also not coaxial. You would need an adapter that generates the appropriate output voltage and converts to coaxial. There is no such adapter for the T500.

Thank you @JuanRayo ,
I found also these details regarding VPIS VO output, but still can't find input characteristics for AB_AC-LPVT.
What is "specified range" for this voltage LPVT input?
I hope that someone will soon publish some post or document regarding sensor product codes that can be used for voltage measurement with AB_AC-LPVT.
Until that it is useless module regarding voltage measurement, synchrocheck, energy meter etc.
