Easergy T300: integrated Condition Monitoring for MV/LV substations (EMS59156, TH110, CL110)

Easergy T300 is a FRTU, a specialized Feeder RTU to control and monitor MV switchgears located in both overhead lines and underground cables MV networks (typically 10 to 36 kV).

Until recently electrical distribution utilities and industrial customers didn't request much from their secondary MV/LV substations: they only wanted them to monitor and report MV faults, measure the load current and operate the MV switchgears. This has changed, customers are now in need of optimizing their MV & LV assets and extending their life while making sure that they are still operational.

For that reason, Schneider Electric has designed specific wireless ZigBee sensors:

  • TH110 sensor for thermal monitoring, used directly on MV & LV connection cables (typically on Smart RMU) as well as on other parts of the MV/LV substation. The model installed on cables is wireless but also batteryless (it operates with the load current induction).
  • CL110 sensor for humidity monitoring

Associated to EMS59156 (the optional ZigBee modem for Easergy HU250 module), Easergy T300 FRTU can connect to TH110/CL110 sensors installed in the MV/LV substation:

  • the collected data is stored into HU250 Core Database.
  • Easergy T300 webserver can display these data (dedicated webpage for Condition Monitoring)
  • these data are available in all protocols (IEC 101/104, DNP3, IEC 61850 and Modbus RTU/TCP)

Easergy T300 being a modular offer, customers have the following choices for condition monitoring:

  1. no MV switchgear operation, no FPI required: [HU250 + EMS59156], [PS25 + 7Ah battery]
  2. no MV switchgear operation, FPI required: [HU250 + EMS59156], [per MV switch: 1 SC150 + 3 or 4 current transformers (1 or 5 A)], [PS25 + 7Ah battery]
  3. MV switchgear operation, FPI required: [HU250 + EMS59156], [per MV switch: 1 SC150 + 3 or 4 current transformers (1 or 5 A)], [PS50 + 24 or 48Ah battery]

Hi All,

In addition to JYP post, you can also see below the link to the White Paper we initiated 2 years ago about Condition Monitoring and which led us to drive the development of the thermal monitoring feature on Easergy T300.

https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_enDocType=White+Paper&p_File_Name=998-2095-03-08-19A...

The thermal monitoring feature has been released with firmware version 2.7 together with Easergy HU250 optional ZigBee modem.

Regards
