Properly calculating the burden could secure that the voltage transformer operates within its specified limits and provides accurate voltage measurements to the connected devices.
Calculating the burden of a voltage transformer involves determining the maximum load that can be connected to the secondary side of the transformer without adversely affecting its performance.
The burden is typically expressed in volt-amperes (VA) and includes the total impedance of the connected burden, which consists of the impedance of measuring instruments, relays, and secondary wiring.
The burden can be calculated using the formula: Burden (VA) = (Secondary Voltage)^2 / (Impedance of the connected burden)
It's also important to consider both the resistive and reactive components of the impedance when calculating the burden.

With (smaller) transformers always check the VA load of the relais and/or other components behind it to ensure you have the right amount of VA on the output of your transformer. If your components together pull too much, choose for a bigger/higher output transformer.
