Ecodial 5.3.1 - Total coordination with 4kW motor not possible

Hi to All,

I can't select the Total coordination in the motor wizard for 4kW direct motor drive.

For other power ratings it works fine.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

BR,

Zarko

Hello ZR,

Thank you for sending the project.

We have validated the project and noted that a different protection device has been selected, and the cross-section of the cables varies.

Specifically, the cable for WD3 is 50 meters, while for WD4, it is 5 meters, resulting in different cross-sections.

SaravanakumarL_0-1738914739102.png

The choice of the protection device is based on the motor load starter operation characteristics, which differ from one another.

SaravanakumarL_2-1738914962937.png

Therefore, the protection device must respond based on the specific load requirements.

We have the coordination data for the two motor loads and their starters and have adopted the protection as expected.

I hope this clarifies your query.

Thanks & Regards,

Team- Ecodial Expert Support.

Hello Saravanakumar,

Please find project attached.

As you will see, two identical 4kW motors are configured, one with a direct starter and the other with a reverse starter. When configuring with the wizard, you can select Total coordination with reversible starter and only Type 1 or Type 2 with direct starter.
As a consequence, a different protection device is selected and the cross-section of the cable is different.

BR,
Zarko

Dear all,

Thank you for your explanation.

I wanted to point out that for a 4kW DOL starter Total coordination cannot be selected in the motor wizard and consequently Tesys U LUB12 is not a possible solution.

Total coordination can be selected for any other motor except 4kW. It can even be selected for 4kW reverse motor.

In the project I sent, my mistake was not to use the same cable lengths for both drives, which distracted from the real issue.

BR,

ZR
