TMD trip unit or Electronic trip unit ? what do you think ?

Hello,

there is something unclear for me , in the usage of the type of trip unit and the choice between TMD technology vs electronic technology for a trip unit of a breaker.  I am use to mixing them in the panel vs the type of loads but perhaps it is the wrong approach .

What do you think? How do you to select both of them  ?

For us, this totally depends on the usage and demands of the client.
As the NSX TMD block only is thermic security/protection and micrologic electrical security covers more than only thermic.
This is showable on the micrologic unit as wel, as it has at least 3 different circle sliders to adjust the protection/adjustements.

In short; the TMD block (ThermoMagnetic) is just only that. Not much further adjustments.
Micrologic however has way more adjustment capabilities on protection.

For us that means; Cost efficiency and required capabilities to pick one or the other.

Technical characteristics regarding cascading and selectivity of TMD and Micrologic are different.

Please look at the complementary technical guide regarding this characteristics.

Commercial price of TMD is lower compared to Micrologic.
