Pro AC plagued with OCPP_SMART_CHARGING
Hi.
We are noticing from some of our installer Pro AC chargers that they frequently give state OCPP_SMART_CHARGING with either set charge value 0A or 8A (see attached image).
Behavior has been similar on both EVCE FW 5.1.1 and now on 5.2.2, Consumption Optimisation Configuration set to ON and subsequent setting Allow Suspend EVSE set to off.
Any tips on how to fix this problem, and what causes it?

Hello @Niktho
The EVCE gives a setpoint at 0A when the EV suspends the charge.
It is a normal behavior, the goal is to give the power to the other EV which continue to charge.
The EVCE ajusts the setpoint according to the consumption of the EV.
Example if the EV consumes only 5 A, the EVCE will send a setpoint at 5+3=8 A
It is a normal behavior, the goal is to give the power to the other EV which continue to charge.

Hi Louis.
This setting happens frequently even if the car in question has not finished its charge, as such the EVCE should not set OCPP Smart Charging to 0A at all. The reason it jumps to 8A is that is the minimum set on the EVCE system, issue is not what value above 0A it jumps to but that it jumps down to 0A regardless of what the car is requesting.
This issue also appears with multiple cables and cars on the same chargepoints, cars and cables that are known to work on neighbouring chargepoints of the same make/model.

Hello
OK, can you send an EVCE diagnostic and Pro AC maintenance report exported after reproducing the issue ?
Thanks
Louis
