Good day,

The standard IEC60947-1  states 70K temp rise for silver plated connections, which is the case on NS1600, for a maximum reference temperature of 40°C around the CB :

"The ambient air temperature does not exceed +40 °C and its average over a period of 24 h
does not exceed +35 °C."

This requirement is given in free air, with the cable / bars sections stated by the standard (2 bars of 100mm x 5mm for 1600A).

Best regards,

Christian

Maybe my message was not clear enough : the temp rise allowed is 70K on the customer connections, under the conditions of the product standard (vertical mounting, in free air with the requested cross sections).

This is for "new state" product, after tests the limit is raised to 80K as per IEC60947-2.

Good day,

Could you please clarify the points below ;

- is your question related to UL489 or IEC ?

- do you mean stabs on the circuit breaker or on the chassis busbars connection ?

Best regards,

Christian

Good Day,

We are looking for the heat temperature on the stab of the NS1600N breaker as per the IEC specifications.

Not referring to the ambient temperature, I would like the actual temperature rise on the sub of the busbar coming out the breaker.
