Micrologic 5.2 display backlight flashing on and off
Hi all,
Would anyone know why we are seeing a couple of MCCBs with Micrologic 5.2 trips installed where the backlight is flashing on and off?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Brian

hello @BrianW
How old are your breaker ? Could you give me date code indication in front of the trip unit ?
What you can do is to reverse the screen between 2 breakers . If it continue to flash, the screen is avavable as spare part on our catalogue.
Best regards

Hi Gregoire,
Thank you for the very quick response.
A typical code is 3N212660077 for one of the ML 5.2E trip units. Others are in the same range.
We are trying to do Automatic Trip Tests on MCCBs that have been in service for a while and are seeing issues such as this. Also, perhaps you can explain do we need to do to make this type of testing quicker as our site engineers are facing the following issues in addition to the flashing backlight display.
- After testing around 15 breakers with problems we have faced problems
- Either test fails with an error saying: “Test time was longer than expected, please change the settings and do it again…”
- We have tried to do that another few times, with another kit and another laptop.
- Then after doing that a few times, we could not discover/connect with the device at all.
- Some of the micrologic screens were blinking or not working at all (attached pictures and video).
- When that happened, we used an older kit (Maintenance Module kit) and it worked with no issues.
- With the new Schneider kit in total, it takes 15 minutes to do each breaker.
- There must be another way to speed things up.
- With two kits we finished testing 17 breakers in 4.5 hours.
I hope you can assist or give some guidelines?
Thank you Gregoire,
Regards,
Brian
