EcoStruxure Power Design - Ecodial INT 4.9.5 - What is the enhancement on the cable sizing
Problem Statement :
While calculating the network with high rated MVLV Transformers, Ecodial ends up with an ERROR message for the cable.
ERROR : No solution found for the cable (WD0). The maximum number of touching circuits (20) is exceeded for the installation method(). reorganize the circuit to decrease the 'number of additional touching circuits.'
Cause :
This is due to the following reasons that;
As per the standard (IEC 60364-5-52), the 'maximum number of touching circuits' (Or) 'the parallel number of runs' is limited to with in 20 numbers.
As per the standard (IEC 60364-5-52), for the "reference method of installation F & G," the current carrying capacities are already available up to 630 mm2.
For the other reference methods, the current carrying capacities for the conductor size more than 300 mm2 are not available at the IEC tables.
So these values are defined by the formula and it will help the application to get the conductor sizes.
The Solution :
To over come the above limitations; For all the reference methods of installation, the current carrying capacities for the conductor size more than 300 mm2 are defined by the formula
This is made available at the back end of the application to get the required conductor sizes. We have also suggested the designers to consult with the 'local manufacturers catalogue' for the higher conductor sizes; before making a selection.
