Do we need to reset the circuit breakers after a power outage?

Hello all,

After a power outage (either at the factory level or at the panelboard level), do we have to reset the circuit breakers?

I mean: the settings, the pairing (if some wireless connection to a gateway), ….

Hi @T_Parks,

NSX's settings remain as they are as most of the functions of the NSX are physically programmable on the circuit breaker itself (rotational sliders) The communication to the outside are probably indicator signals?

Whether the circuitbreaker is ON/OFF with an power outage its obviously signaling its off, or displaying an malfunctioning current (no current) so it wouldnt be any issue? Same signaling with any other software related connection.

I think best thing to do is switch every circuitbreaker off first, then turn back on head switch and 1 by 1 re-switch every circuit breaker on and see if the communication and everything turns back to normal (in monitoring tool as well).

EDIT:
If there are components with communication over MODBUS/Ethernet it should stay the same as well.
Everything should have a static IP address and when they are back online the monitoring tool should be able to see them again.
Depending on the component; Most components have a small battery that hold on to the internal settings of that component/communication.

Kind regards,

Rick
