Hello Guys,
I'm working in the LV panel building field , When I select the type of cable from the manufacturer cataloges,
I see many options regarding the types :
- In Conduit or Air
- Free flat or Free Trefoil
Which are the more reasonable options for panels ?
Thanks
Husam

Hello @Husam-89 ,
I am not our company's buyer.
However I do know that we use 90 degrees cable and that we defaulted our cable to be Halogen free.
As most of our customers/client demand Halogen free cable's and components nowadays, mostly due fire safety regulation and goals.
Hopefully this is of any help!

Cable size selection is based on three main factors: Current carrying capacity. Voltage regulation. Short circuit rating.

Hello @Husam-89 ,
These arrangement are to determine the derating of the cable.
For fair estimate, the cables inside the panels are to be considered as in conduit because of closed surroundings. This shall have large deration in ampacity.
Other point such as flat/trefoil does not have huge impact as the length inside the panel is small for the cables. To have accurate estimate this is to be taken based on the routing of cable inside the panel which will mostly be flat spaced.
These are applicable for MV cables and not for LV cables.
Hope this clarifies your point.
Regards,
Aravind.
