Can Asset Advisor monitor Power? Voltage, Amperage, etc.
Can Asset Advisor gather the information from a power monitor?
Being able to gather the temperature as well as the power information would provide more insight into the health of an asset.
I have seen some information that Asset Advisor can monitor a MV VFD. How does it accomplish the power monitoring? What does the architecture look like?
Regards,
Saul

Hi Saul,
Connectivity for ATV6000 is made by Com'X, which is installed and configured at factory, not in brownfield once equipment is shipped to customer site. They keep using Com'X by the time all models are created, tested and validated for Panel server. Any ATV6000 ordered with EAA option gets 1 Com'X inside, with all relevant signals. Picture you shared is definition for connectivity with full scope of options.

Hi,
After a check, I confirm the ATV6000 is supported by PanelServer (PAS600 & PAS800).
There is a custom model, that allow PanelServer to monitor all useful data.
The architecture you first asked is possible yet:
ATV6000 Modbus TCP--->Panel Server--->EAA
About the PM8244, yes there is also a custom model for Panel Server allowing :
PM8000 --->Panel Server--->EAA
Important : the custom models I talk here are designed for EAA use, so not all the modbus map are monitored, only the data that EAA need.

Thank you Loic. Attached you will find the slide of the ATV6000.
It would be interesting to find out what the architecture looks like.

Victor,
Thank you for your reply.
Is it safe to assume that the ATV6000 communicates to Com'X via Modbus to get the input power and output power information?
Regards,
Saul

Loic,
Is there a list of compatible 3rd party Power Monitors that are compatible with Asset Advisor?
Example: GE PQM II Power Quality Meter, Eaton IQ DP-4000

Hi Saul,
Asset Advisor is not designed to deliver Power Monitoring, but is compatible with Power Monitoring systems and Power meters, as far as they communicate with Modbus protocol, and gather that information.
There is a service named Power Advisor that better address that domain, with a system level approach.
Reason to connect those solutions or devices to Asset Advisor is to gather measurements required for the asset condition and performance analytics delivered (for instance the current per phase in thermal points, or voltage levels for aging computation). Once we gather measurements like voltage, current, load factor or even THD, we can display in our dashboards, and CSH experts would take them into account for the remote monitoring process they are accountable for, while Asset Advisor analysis is still asset centric. CSH can make conclusions system wide to complete their recommendations (like an overvoltage originated at utility level impacting multiple equipment measured across the system...).
In case of ATV6000, I recommend you to contact Offer manager for ESP for Drives (Nabil Hussain Khilji) to get in deeper discussion.
EcoStruxure Power teams are already working on the new solution that will bring together both domains Power and Asset management, shortly. It is the project known as New Advisor and will support EcoCare membership contracts. Stay tunned to EcoCare channels to know more!
