Multiple 3-wire pnp to PLC

I need to connect 7 3-wire PNP sensors to a PLC.

To save on wiring, is it possible to use common supply and ground for them from the PLC and 1 signal per sensor? So this would become 9 cores in total in a single multicore cable?

I see no problem on a solution like that if all signals got to the same DI card or on the same oboard DI.
