System Word for M340 and M580 IP Address
I see that Quantum has the IP address in %SW141 - %SW142, but is there a comparable system word for M340 and M580? I see some documentation indicating that the M340/M580 IP can be found in %SW6-7 but I see that it says "Modification is not taken into account." Does that mean if you change the IP from the default it won't be reflected?

M580 Default main IPV4 address of CPU = 192.168.10.1
%SW6 - Last two octets of CPU main IP address = 16# 0A 01
%SW7 - first two octets of CPU main IP address = 16# C0 A8
these system words will always update when you change the IP address via the Control Expert in the IPconfig tab of the CPU ethernet window. When you display the system words in an Animation table you can try modify the values however as the system words are read from an internal register and this process cannot permanently modify the values.
This is what is referred to as the modification is not taken into account.
Please also note that the CPU also has an IP address A which is used by the Remote IO rack / DIO devices ethernet control component of the CPU. This value is not displayed. A suggestion is that when configuring IP addresses for the CPU that the main CPU ip address is set to:
Main IP (IPV4) address = A.B.C.x
Main IP (IPV4) address+1 = A.B.C.x+1 (if used in hot standby)
IP (IPV4) address A = A.B.C.x+2
IP (IPV4) address B = A.B.C.x+3 (if used in hot standby)
by doing this you allow for hot standby systems but also have knowledge of the IP address for all other scenarios.
