PLC Migration - Memory read and write

Is there an app where I can read a bunch of data from PLC memory and then import into another PLC?

For instance,  I want to scan all the data from MW500 to MW580 in a 984 PLC and then write it to memory in an M580 PLC that I recently migrated the program to.

This would be amazing for PLC migrations as the new PLC can start with the same memory state at the old one.

Attached is an app I received from my Schneider rep. It allows to save modbus register values to the file and then load them to PLC from the file. I used it when was migrating my controllers from Proworx to UnityPro.

That is exactly the tool that I've been looking for.  This is great.

Thank you.

One question for you - how do you specify a slave ID in this software for older PLCs?  Say a PLC is slave ID 4, it looks like it doesn't have an option.

Unfortunately I am not sure if this is possible. It worked for me as is with pretty old Quantum controllers. Maybe you can temporarily change slave ID to 0 or 255.

It has been awhile since I used the tool so I just try to save registers from my PLC. It looks like you do not enter the register number that you want to read. The tool automatically reads all registers configured in PLC. See my screenshot below.

I guess you need that abortion called Proworx? It won't work with Modsoft?

FrancisBreysach_0-1737366038685.png

Hi Ciupol, it seems that the setting: First register && Register number for PLC -> File are only ReadOnly: 0 .. 10000. I haven't found a way to change them to 0 .. 65535 registers. I have not found anything in the .XML configuration file.

Is there a way to do this?
