Hello,
I have a couple of questions regarding updating the firmware on a M340 CPU. (I have read the manual for the processor and also cybersecurity documents but cannot find this info...)
First, does the latest FW version contain all of the improvements/fixes from the previous releases or do they all have to be installed? For example, I have a M340 at SV 02.50 and I have installed SV 03.50. Am I good there or do I need to install 02.60, 02.70, up to the latest?
Second, regarding that same CPU that I have updated from 02.50 to 03.50... Should I now be able to disable ftp/http access to increase security? I know that the SV has to be at least 2.60 in order to do this, but does updating past this version qualify? The reason I ask is that after updating the fore-mentioned CPU which now shows processor version 03.50-7 under the cpu information tab, when trying to disable ftp/http access I get the following error -
"This CPU (BMX P34 2020) or it's version (V 02.30) doesn't support the security services. Enable all fields(ftp/http) or replace the current CPU"
See attached pics.
Any insight on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Did you update the CPU version in Control Expert?
You need to ensure the selected CPU version is at same level as the FW on the CPU hardware.

Hi AlastairF,
Thank you for the reply. Yes, that is what I was missing. When I originally posted this question Sunday night it somehow got marked as spam and did not post to the forums. The next morning I contacted tech support and the engineer told me the same thing you just posted.
Thanks again for the reply.
Paul
