Hello Everyone
we have a very urgent case that need to be solved as soon as possible as we are in the end of a running site activities and we need to close the project with the customer
We have a running project containing 4 M580 standalone MoD icon PLC’s and we need to establish a communication between ABB DCS and our MoD icon PLC
Used Protocol
Modbus TCP/IP using ethernet cable, ABB DCS is Master and our MoD icon PLC is slave
MoD icon System connection
Ethernet port 2 of BMEP581020 M580 CPU Module
ABB System connection
Ethernet port 2 of CI867 Communication Module
The case is that we are not able to establish the communication so is there any settings that need to be done in our PLC configuration in Control Expert
Also is there a specific firmware that need to be applied to our PLC for enabling this communication
And is there any settings that need to be configured in ABB side
your help will be highly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hello Menna,
We did a similar projects with ABB and siemens with the same configuration
I prefer to use read_Var and write_var functions to exchange the data between two systems (ABB or siemens ) like the attached print screens.
for simens : M580 was a client and S7-1500 was a server ; In this case read_var and write_var shall be added in M580 side.
for ABB : M580 was a Server and AC800 was a Client ; in this case no actions done in M580 and read and write functions will be added in AC800 , the address for write and read will be assigned in M580 side.
