Not sure an application update tool is the right approach. It would be so much better if this functionality was within Control Expert, I imagine going to the hardware view right clicking on the NOC module and having an option to replace the module. Then all the appropriate settings and DIO devices would be automatically restored into the new module. Changing a NOC module should be no more involved than changing from one M580 cpu to a different M580 CPU
External tools and having to import/export (if only you could import DIO devices) is at best clunky.
Understood and this would be the ideal case and perhaps this should be an option rather than automatically invokes the tool and then provides the replacement. It will require import and export which is a little more than just a change of a module or a drag and drop into place
