Make the CPU Model Number available to logic

It would be good if the CPU model number was available either as a system word or through a function block. When you have a remote network of hundreds of PLC systems it can be difficult to keep track of what model CPU is where.

If the model number was available within the PLC logic it could then be reliably reported on SCADA

It would be ideal if this was available in the Device DDT created by the CPU as a string.

From an asset management perspective the ability to read the information related to what is installed and how it is configured is important.  Similarly the diagnostics information such as memory used, free memory and fragmentation are key items to be highlighted so the next time the CPU is accessed these items can also be corrected.
