PM5000 series log files

Hi,

From the PM5310 up they have Log files on-board but I can"t access these readings.

How does one access the on-board data of the PM5000 series?

I know ION Setup could access this type of file but it is no longer issued with PME8.

Could i use this.

TIA.

Ashley

Hi Ashley

PME should automatically upload these files - unless you are referring to ION:E 6.

Can you elaborate?

Tom

Hi Ashley,

If you want to use IONSetup to view the logs from the meter, you can still do so by installing IONSetup from the following location:

https://community.se.com/community/power-management-community/monitoringhardware/ion-setup

However if PME is not downloading the logs, then it could be an issue in PME or a device issue.

There was an issue in the device fw which led to stoppage of logs. However the issue has now been fixed in the device. Check whether the device is having the latest firmware version (1.5.0). I am not sure which version of PME are you using or which version of driver. Latest versions of the driver reads the log status and indicates whether there is an error condition in the device. You can see that in the Log Resets page in PME.

Hi Tom and Anirban,

I agree you should be able to upload these files but it the first meter in the range that i have found the log files disabled by default!!

It only has the 1 log file so i assumed it would have been active as default.

And yes, i know what assume stands for.

Thanks for the replies....

Let us know Ashley - they should be uploaded by default.  Anirban has provided some clues re: firmware revision etc - hope it helps !

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the replies.

Once i enabled the logs they are accessible but I would have thought these would be enabled by default.

All sorted...

Regards,

Ashley

Ashley - are you saying they are disabled by default on the device itself?  If yes, it is worth posting on the hardware forum.

Thanks

Tom

Morning Tom,

Yes, that's what i am meaning...

Factory default - log files are disabled..well my 2 x PM5310's were..

This is the first meter from =S= that is like this and was the reason for my initial question.

Ashley - I am going to move your post to the monitoring hardware forum for comment by the firmware team.

Thanks
