The Development of Intelligent Edge Gateway In IOT

        Edge Computing Gateway (Edge Gateway) extends cloud functionality to local edge devices, enabling edge devices to respond quickly and autonomously to local events, providing local computing services with low latency, low cost, privacy and security, and local autonomy.

Edge computing gateways can run on edge computing gateway devices via standard containers to enable data collection, parsing, cleansing, aggregation, processing, storage and device control of multi-protocol sub-devices for data security, real-time device control, local scene linkage, cloud-side collaboration, and even reliable operation over longer offline periods.

Why do we need edge computing gateway?

With the rapid development of IoT technology, all industries are beginning to digitally transform and more devices connect to the Internet. According to statistical authorities, the number of IoT device connections worldwide will reach 100 billion by 2025. Under this trend, enterprises will face the following challenges:

  1. Lack of real-time data analysis and processing capabilities, which makes it significantly more difficult to process data in the cloud,when large amounts of data are migrated to the cloud for processing.
  2. Difficult to centrally deploy and manage numerous IoT devices and applications, as well as diverse interfaces and protocols.

The combination of edge computing and IoT technologies has given rise to the Edge Computing IoT. Edge computing IoT brings edge computing architecture to the IoT space. Deploying an edge computing gateway that integrates networking, computing, storage and applications at the network edge of a device or data source can provide device control services at the network edge node.. As a result, edge computing IoT solves the "last mile" problem of industrial IoT communication and enables intelligent connectivity and efficient management of IoT devices.

The usage and advantage of Edge computing gateway.

The usage of Edge computing gateway:

  1. Adaptation of diverse physical interfaces and protocols to enable fast and smooth access to the Internet for IoT terminals.
  2. Enables unified management of a large number of terminal devices.
  3. Enables local traffic to be processed locally for fast response.
  4. Open industry collaboration systems.

The advantages of Edge computing gateway:

  1. Rapid deployment of cloud-edge collaboration: Cloud configuration information can be deployed to edge gateways with one click, enabling cloud-edge collaboration.
  2. Standard object model: Define devices through object model, provide standard access to devices and simplify the access development process.
  3. Full-link data security: Adopt a variety of data encryption and authentication methods, with a complete set of authority management system, to ensure data security.
  4. Remote operation and maintenance: provide secure edge gateway login capability to enable remote operation and maintenance of gateway devices.
  5. Rule engine: Convenient rule engine configuration tools, rich cloud rule reserve, providing you with one-stop rule development services.

Edge computing gateways can be widely used in various scenarios where the cloud is moving to the edge of the network, so they are particularly suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) scenarios with a large number of device connection needs.
