Machine Expert Basic runs slowly

Hello!

I have had this issue for about 5 years...

Machine Expert Basic/ SoMachine Basic has always run slow for me, I mean it takes me about 5-10 seconds to copy and paste a contact in the same rung. every action i make in MEB takes about 1-2 seconds for my computer to process, meanwhile my CPU is almost idling on ALL cores. Disabling Auto Validation bareley helps.

however Machine Expert that i use for M251 PLC's works just fine.

Is there a way to make MEB fluid or are there any alternative apps for programming M221 PLC's?

Hi @Tom_Johansson ,

On my experience with ESME Basic (former SoM Basic) there could be some "delays" when we make the complete code of the machine only in one POU and we try to make a modification online so separate the code in different POUs is good...Now:

Does the behaviour happen with any project?

Can you share the project with us to check if we have the same behaviour?

Does the behaviour happen when you are online with the M221?

Are you using a Virtual Machine?

Have you tried a Virtual Machine? 

Does the "System Information" of your laptop match the system requirement for the software?

I believe that It will be great if you can share with the community a video of the behaviour or you can contact the Schneider technical support in your country and provided the video + the "system information" of your computer.

In my opinion if you can work fine with the other Machine Expert that requires more you should not have problem with the M221's software.

• Does the behaviour happen with any project?
  All my projects so far. Usually it gets noticable after about 4 POUs with about 5-10 rungs each.
  My usual workaround is to make the program work for 1 unit the copy and rename for the rest after testing.

  Tried it today and I felt noticeable improvement in fluidity.

  yes it does. i have a i5 mobile CPU and 16GB of RAM.
  Windows system resource manager reports that i use a total of 5-15% CPU about 40% peak usage on induvidual cores while using ESMEB 
  And i constantly have about 9GB of free RAM.
