ESME-HVAC UPLOAD feature(Load from PLC)

Is there any way to a load program file from M172?

Even when I connect to PLC with latest program file which is same as PLC, Sometimes It display [diff.code] Status.
So I can't sure which program is latest or not.

If the feature is not supported, How do you guys managing the program files?

Hi,

check the attached example project for M172.

It shows the project version you can define here:

FedericoM_0-1704354649552.png

In the example it is shown on the main view of the display and also copied on a couple of status vars.

Project version can be read also from Installer Network scan:

Hello,

source code is not downloaded on the PLC, so it can't be uploaded.

I know the source check is not perfectly working.

If you change connection settings, you'll have a diff. code, in this case it is enough to save the project.

My suggestion is to change the project version at any released source change.

I am glad Steven asked this question, it has always been a problem for me as well.

Federico, what exactly are you suggesting ? Having an EEPROM variable named "ReleasedVersion" which is updated every time you download a new program to the PLC ? If that is how you manage that, how would you automate it ? Is it possible to run a task either at boot or init that runs exactly once, meaning after a new program is downloaded ?

I understand now. Thanks!

Is there any documentation regarding the PLC database structure ? What other data are available ?

Thank you for the answer.

It could be suggested to our customers as a temporary alternative.

But is there any future plan for UPLOAD FEATURE?

Thank you🙂

These PLCs are designed mainly for OEM, most of them don't want this feature to protect their know how.

Thank you for the reply.

To protect the KNOW-HOW, we can use the protection feature like a password.😂

You said "most of them", but "most of them" in Korea are wondering why it is not supported. And really want..
