What installation rules for PIBCV valves?

Hi,

I need to install my first PIBCV valves and I feel I should respect some installation rules to secure they properly operate.

Especially... What distance do I need to leave before and after the PIBCV valve?

Hello Charlie,

I could not find anything in the documentation I have or online, so I reached out to the product manager who has provided the following statement: -

Our PIBCV’s do not need to have any straight lengths of pipe before and after the valve to ensure lamina flow like conventional zone or globe valves, this is due to the differential pressure controller (or pressure regulator) which takes out all the turbulence. So while it may always be good to try and provide some length of straight pipe, in practice it does not matter.  This is a big advantage of PIBCV compared to traditional valves and also compared to the more elaborate electronic PICV’s that utalise a flow meter in conjunction with a ball or globe valve.  So a much more compact installation is possible.
