Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to use IO Scanning to establish a Modbus TCP connection between the PLC Simulator and a Modbus device ? I try with the function block "Read_Var" and it work great but, it doesn't work with the IO Scanning(DTM Browser) and i don't know why. Maybe, the PLC Simulator doesn't support IO Scanning ?
If it is possible, can you send me an URL with complete example ?
Thank you,
Fred

Hello Fred,
The simulator is simulating the application software only, it's not capable of simulating the hardware. IO and communication modules are not implemented or simulated. This also means that IO-scanning and for example the READ_VAR function is not functioning as this needs a physical ethernet port.

Thanks Fred,
I still had hopes, because we were able to connect to the PLC variables over the external network using Modbus on TCP.
But thanks to your post, we stopped wasting our time! 🙂
All the same, in course of our attempts to achieve I noticed that the ADDM function gives no output!
like if we put 'Ethernet_1{192.168.1.220}' on the input side of the ADDM block, with an array of 8 integers on the output, I noticed that the ADDM block does not work.
