I have several XBTGT Magelis screens (10" and 15")- all around 2013 vintage that are experiencing similar issues where at random intervals they lose communication with the PLCs (over Ethernet - Modbus/TCP), with the error "failed to open connection to plc (xxxx)"
When in this state the webserver doesn't work either, and they don't even respond to a ping request. The only way to fix is to restart via a power cycle, or the restart option in the system menu.
These issues have only appeared in the last 12 months. All have been upgraded to latest firmware (VD 6.2 SP12).
Two of these screens are in our office controlling lighting, etc while the others are across customer sites. I found with the two here, if I disconnect the PLC/HMI network from the Office LAN the problem goes away. So I suspect it is to do with some other LAN traffic that causes the ethernet port to lock up.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue, or more importantly, know a fix?
Thanks,
Tony

Rodrigo,
I am based in Australia.
We have since had this happen on another site, but this time with a GXU unit. The issue seems to have occured since they changed to IP phones onsite - not sure if this is a co-incidence?
