Hello,
Im working on project using M580 (Two PLCs one as primary and second as Hot stand by) and im facing problem with connecting my project in control expert to to PLC.
I tried to use connectin by USB and by Ethernet both with the same ending quote: "Requerd Programming connecting mode is not available. Do you wish to use Monitoring connection mode instead?".
I was able to load the first HW configuration but since then im only able to monitor it and didnt find any way how to fix it. Also any of the LEDS "Prim" or "STBY" doesnt flash when started.
I already tried to clear the CPU using clearing button and again setting the PLs to A and B configuration. After that the old version isnt present in PLC but i cannot program anything new either.
Thanks in advance.

hello @Jaraky
yes, This is probably because you have the Engineering Link programmed as "Filtered"
https://community.se.com/t5/Industry-Automation-and-Control/Engineering-Link-Mode-Error/td-p/470419
To solve it, do the following steps:
1- Open Security Editor software
2- Open the "Certificate whitelist" / Enter the IP address of the M580, Trust Certificate and click OK
With this action you will have secured the connection from the computer to the PLC via HTTPS
From here you will have to connect to the Control Expert via "HTTPS USB" or "HTTPS TCP"
If you want to be able to connect via Modbus you will have to change the "Engineering Link" configuration to "Full Access"

My issue were in the HW and after consultating with technical support from schneider they concluded that my firmware of PLC are doing this issues. They suggested to downgrade firmware and afterwards update it again.
This way aplication works as intended

Hello Jaraky,
I'm sorry to disagree with my colleagues' conclusion, I probably lack information to better evaluate the scenario you mention, however.......
If the message "Required Programming connecting mode is not available. Do you wish to use Monitoring connection mode instead?" appears, it is for the reason I told you, because of the "Engineering Link" configuration.
I insist that I probably lack information about your case, but the recommendation should always be to update to the latest firmware version, nothing more.
If you want to share any additional information with me, contact me privately, if you want.
It was a pleasure to have been able to help you.

Sorry for late replay,
I probably worded it poorly. Your first answer is correct and i Recomand everyone to first try this solution, however for me it didnt work because there was some issue with firmwere in the current PLC.
Im not expert on it happend but what I was said was something like that version have some cyber security, and when I first downloaded project i didnt have the Engeneerig LInk to full accces, after that the PLC is locked and you can not revrite it even if you change configuration so the only other option you have is to downgrade your firware and afterwards update it back to the newer.
Hopefully it makes a little bit of sense
