Hello,
I am new to using telepace and had some questions regarding the program and inputs and outputs. The question I have is that I see our HMI pointing to a DI but do not see it in the program how is this possible? Also, when creating a rung and using a normal open or normal close contact I come up in the 00000 range which is for coils can this be changed and why is it that they are addressed to coils? All that to ask this. If I am trying to take the DIs and read them from another PLC would it be best to do a move and put the registers into holding bits to read from?

Hello,
I can give you basic info here but the best plan of action is to contact our support team:
North America only: supporttrss@se.com
Elsewhere: Contact your local country's Schneider Electric SCADA & Telemetry support team.
In the meantime...
- Accessing any data in the Telepace program from any external device like an HMI is done by referencing the Modbus database in the SCADAPack. So the HMI needs to talk Modbus protocol.
- In the Telepace program itself, physical inputs and outputs are assigned Modbus registers by using the Register Assignment feature.
- If you are attempting to access the input/output Modbus registers in a SCADAPack with an existing Telepace program running in it, then you need to locate the Register Assignment table in the Telepace program and there you will see which Modbus registers were assigned to which physical I/O points.
- If this is a new Telepace program that you're creating, then you will need to create the register assignment table and choose which Modbus register addresses go with which I/O point on the SCADAPack.
- Telepace uses standard Modbus register types and there is no way to change this:
Digital outputs: 00001 range
Digital inputs: 10001 range
Analog inputs: 30001 range
Analog outputs: 40001 range
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Martin Chartrand
