Control Expert lacks improvments

When do Schneider will provide resources for Control Expert improvments.

I pushed for years my customers to prefer Schneider than Siemens for example, but now, i must admit than Schneider cannot compare anymore with Control expert against TIA Portal.

Are not included:

HMI

Comparison tool

Premium to M580 conversion

The trend tool features are a lot fewer.

Same for the search/replace tool.

Version management is a nightmare.

A lot of bugs existing since very old versions.

Software crashes very often. For example wheen you perform quickly a quick double Ctrl+V for pasting twice the same thing.

I'm sure i forget a bunch of remarks.

We now have software EcoStruxure Automation expert who exceeds the TIA features, Please check the EAR Catalog and E-Learning courses for it

I'm sorry to tell you that I know this product quite well since I helped launch it in Carros...

It is not simple to use. It cannot compete in the same category as Control Expert and TIA portal and I bet that it will never replace them.

Maybe it'll find its market but will stay in the shadow of traditional products.

I feel exactly the same way about Control Expert. I used it since v7.0 and I can't think of a single new feature it added which I missed before. New versions are all about fixing bugs and adding compatibility with newer hardware, not about usability at all 😞

Now they are even calling it "classic" which might explain it is on its path to become a legacy product so I really don't think any major features will come anymore 😞
