I need clarification regarding the communication setup between the TM241C40T PLCs and the HMIGTO5310 HMI. The communication protocol used is Modbus TCP/IP, and I’m utilizing the TM4ES4 switch module for Modbus TCP connectivity.
There are four sets of PLCs (TM241C40T with TM4ES4) communicating with the HMIGTO5310 via a managed Ethernet switch. However, the TM4ES4 module displays the protocol as "Machine Expert Protocol" when communicating between the PLCs and the HMI.
I would like to confirm whether any standard managed Ethernet switch can be used for this setup, or if a specific type of managed switch is required to ensure proper communication.
Refer the attachment for communication architecture.

The machine expert protocol should also work on any standart switch.
