Hello everyone,
Newbie with regards to Altivar devices. Working with an ATV340. I cannot seem to connect to it. I have downloaded and installed the ATV340 DTM.
I dont have a USBA-RJ45 cable, so I used a USB-DB9 converter/null modem cable/DB9-RJ45 to CN7 port.
SoMove detects USB converter, but doesnt see the drive.
I tried to see if I could connect through to the Ethernet port, but dont have the IP address of the drive. I do have the MAC address though.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I went through the documentation and videos, and cannot seem to find instructions on how to connect via Ethernet without IP address.

If you are unsure about the IPV4 address, you can always use IPV6 to connect to the drive and update the IPV4 address.

Hi @EASI-JohnB,
Please find attached file for Modbus serial Communication of ATV340 (embedded).
also you can download from this link below.
https://www.se.com/ww/en/download/document/NVE61654/
Please make sure that you are using RS232 (USB or db9) - RS485 (RJ 45) converter, because on ATV340 is using RS485 Modbus serial.
regards,
