This article provides a step-by-step guide to configure and implement a Modicon M580 standalone architecture with a redundant I/O network based on PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol) technology.
Such an architecture includes at least:
-one Modicon M580 controller supporting Remote I/O drops
-one Remote I/O drop managed by a redundant communication adapter BMECRA31310(H)
-two Modicon Managed Ethernet Switches
-one Modicon Redundancy Switch supporting PRP.
