This article provides a step-by-step guide to configure and implement a Modicon M580 High-availability architecture with a redundant I/O network relying on PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol) network technology.
Such an architecture includes at least:
-two Modicon M580 Redundant CPUs (primary and standby)
-one Ethernet Remote I/O drop managed by one or two redundant communication adapter BMECRA31310(H)
-two Modicon Managed Switches
-two Modicon Redundancy Switches supporting PRP.
