Issue
To configure and establish an EtherNet/IP communication between an M580 controller and an Edge I/O NTS island, the I/O system's EDS file needs to be imported into Control Expert EDS library. However, Control Expert V16.2 offers a seemless integration using the EtherNet/IP built-in DTM for Edge I/O NTS.
Resolution
This article provides a step-by-step guide to configure and integrate a Modicon Edge I/O NTS island in an M580 standalone architecture using the EtherNet/IP built-in DTM (Device Type Manager) in EcoStruxure Control Expert.
