I'm working with a customer who wants backup files (doesn't matter if it's runtime or source code) of two M172 controllers and two HMIST6400 HMI terminals. This is in case something catastrophic were to happen that they could just load the binaries and go. Is this possible with these controllers/HMIs?

On TM172 it will be easy, you find on the controller the compiled files which could be extract via software, or FTP or USB pendrive (with system function). On HMIST you could save the project (compiled) via hardware menue. On the HMI I see the problem that the Project always need the right Firmware (Which changes with every EOTE Version). Till yet I do not try if this generate a probelm. You have to try.
