M172 - download on command line updates and generating the USB files

Hi,

I have a copy of the 'HowToUse_DownloadOnLineCommand' rev3.

Is there a new version of this resource?

Also, I want to be able to use the 'EWDevice.exe' or similar to generate the USB files using command line.

Is this possible?

Hi,

rev 3 is the last created for HowToUse_DownloadOnLineCommand, so there isn't a newer version.

About USB files creation the only tool we have is ESME HVAC inisde commissioning perspective.

There isn't an option in EWDevice.

Is EWDevice likely to be updated at all with new features? i.e generating the USB files, or flashing a BIOS.

Hi,

we have an open request to perform partial download like PLC+HMI or PLC only or HMI only or BIOS+Parameters or BIOS only, but for the moment we haven't scheduled a release date.

not use the /DOWNLOADALL option in the command row.

The instructions say that the /DOWNLOADALL option is mandatory and when I call EWDevice without it there is no output in the terminal. This is the command line calI am using.

Note the pathing is a bit different because I am calling using Msys2 terminal.

Hi,

you are right.. the DOWNLOAD ALL option is mandatory, because EWDevice is a commissioning tool so it is used  to download the application. The partial download will be available in the future.
