I had a question from our friends in New-Zealand on how to use the Com'X200 to send data to Energy Operation Online (aka REM). The steps are exactly the same as you would do using the EGX300. Let's review them!
1) General Settings --> Site Information: enter what you used to call the unique AccountId there.
2) General Settings --> Date/time settings: simply select your timezone and set the correct time
3) General Settings --> Data logging: set the appropriate data logging. Remember that typically you should try to match what your utility is doing. Also remember that you will not be able to change the interval length later as EOO only supports a single interval length. Also if you want to display multiple things at the same time, all of these should have the same interval length too. In other words, pick one interval length for your country for all your measurements and stick to it!
4) General Settings --> Publication: this is exactly the same as in the EGX300 except for the publication frequency that cannot be less than hourly. Make sure to select "Energy Online" as the destination platform, select your protocol (FTP or HTTP) and then fill in the rest of the fields depending on the protocol selection.
In the following example, I used FTP, entered the server's IP (72.2.4.41), and put the username and password.
5) Communication Settings --> Modbus serial: just set appropriate the baud rate and parity
6) Communication Settings --> Network settings: this will depend on what you want to use. If you have the GPRS modem with SIM card, then your life is real easy! Select GPRS only from the drop down. Note that you might have to enter the APN that would be provided to you.
The other solution is to use your local network, but then, like the EGX300, you might have issues with proxy servers, firewalls and all the usual networking issues. If you do so, the Com'X200 has a way to user proxy server, but not PAC files yet.
7) Device Settings: here you can add your meters, sensors, etc... For your test, simply use a Schneider Electric meter, plug it on your modbus port and do a auto-discovery.
😎 Commissioning: first start the data logging so that you have something to send, and once you have some data logged, you can use the Test Publication. That will should you whether your communication settings from the data logger to the EOO server are fine. Finally if it's all good, you can start the periodic publication.
9) Once this is all done, the meters will appear as usual in the dummy account in the REM Admin side.
