Will there be any possibility to discover automatically the devices connected to the child gateway without adding them using the virtual ID ?

No, the product connected to the child gateway must be added one by one by filling IP@ +Modbus@.

There is no syntax such as 'xx-yy' which offer the possibility to dicover several modbus product in one operation.

Automatic discovery is in the roadmap but will not be available in the next fw version 1.5 ( will be later)  

Concerning the modbus Tool: his tool was designed by an SE R&D  team for their own usage  (which one ?... idon't know) and it is not maintained today in particular to fix identified bugs. Therefore I cannot share it.
